今日は海外留学に役立つ外国語の習得方法について前回の続きをお伝えします。

 

今日のポイントは・・・

 

一つの単語を「いつ」「どこで」「誰と」「なにを」「なぜ」の４つの文脈でとらえていくことが重要だということです。

 

例えば、ベンガル語の「Lukhano（隠れる）」という単語を覚える時、

 

ノートの半面の真ん中に単語を書いて、

 

その単語はいつどんな場面で使用されたのか？

その単語を使用した人はだれか？

その単語は何をしていることを表す言葉なのか？

 

こんな形で単語に付随する情報を書き足していきます。

 

 

すると、この単語が使われる場面、関連する別の単語などがより明確にインプットされるようになるので、単語を記憶しやすくなるということです。

It is essential to understand a word in the context of “when,” “where,” “with whom,” “what,” and “why.”

 

For example, when learning the Bengali word “Lukhano” (to hide)

I write the word in the middle of the half-sheet of my notebook.

When and in what context was the word used?

Who used the word?

What is the word used for?

 

Add the information that accompanies the word in this way.

This makes it easier to memorize the word because you will have a more direct input of the situation in which it is used, another related term.
